Abstract

The following seminar-paper compares two newspapers from different parts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the early 20th century. It will examine how mass media are influenced by the state and on their part try to influence the population. This will be achieved on the basis of the analysis of six significant events in the period of 1908 – 1918. It will be shown that there was a major difference in the way the two newspapers illustrated these events.
